This study examines the ways in which sex has been influenced by technology during various eras of human history. It opens with a discussion of the technical and sexual organization of medieval monasteries. Next, Gordo López (Compultense U., Madrid) and Cleminson (U. of Bradford) describe how the early wind and water mill afforded opportunities for moral and erotic transgression and go on to explore the effects of railway travel on romance. The final section is devoted to contemporary techno-sexual issues. The volume does not contain a subject index. Distributed in the U.S. by ISBS. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
