"Thank Delcat," she croaked, then cleared her throat. "How fast are we going? Have we left that thing behind?"
Marten's attention was trained on the radar screen, but he glanced briefly at her. "The Argon fleet craft is one of the fastest in the galaxy. I'm trying to shake him off, but he's right behind us."
"What?"
"The red blip on the radar is your friend."
"Well blow him out of the sky, man!"
"I'd rather outrun him--"
"I'd rather you blow him up."
"Bloodthirsty little thing, aren't you?"
"He's after my blood, remember? Besides, what have you got against blowing him to kingdom come?"
"I want to find out more about him first."
"What more is there to know? He wants to kill me!"
"As I said, I can sympathize with him on that."
"He wants to kill you, too, you know."
"Only because of you, lykitten."
"With that attitude, I'm surprised you don't just shoot me through the garbage disposal over to his ship."
Turning his head, Marten regarded her thoughtfully.
"Oh, wonderful. Now you're considering it?"
"It has it merits. Then again," his gaze ran over her slowly, stopping to linger on her breasts. "Keeping you has more merits."
