With sophisticated erotic escapades on nearly every page, Thea Devine's historical romance Bliss River (after Seductive) lives up to its name. Set in 1898 among the profligate English aristocrats of the South African Bliss River Valley, the book follows the fiendish Charles Elliott, an outsider who pretends to run a polo club for the rich decadents so that he can execute a complicated plot to avenge his father's death. When his plan goes awry, he's forced to take to the road with a young woman hostage, and the antics only get steamier from there. Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.

September 21, 2002: I wait very impatiently for a Thea book and this one was worth waiting for once you get past the strange first few chapters. These two young people need to talk more even if they do not trust each other. Charles should have been more prepared if he were as wordly as he wants me to believe. Good book as always

July 03, 2002: I returned this book to get my money back. It's pure porno very badly done! The plot is awful with page after page of boring description of sexual acts that are difficult to believe. When will these porno writers realize that a strong plot and sexual desire beginning in the brain plus credible foreplay are very necessary elements in the written portrayal of sexual acts? Why do all these 'heroines' have to be whores, sluts, etc.? I will no longer buy any of Devine's books!!
