      November 27, 2006: D.N. Simmons has done what few authors do sucessfully and that's write a second book in the series that's actually BETTER than the first! Some authors are one hit wonders, not D.N. This book has everything, I cried, I laughed, I held my breath in aniticipation, it was a wild, wild ride, totally refreshing. Darian, the sexiest master vampire ever created, gets arrested for murder by the SUITs, which is a hard-as-nails, touch-as-steel police squad created to handle the supernatural threat. They want him dead unless his friends can discover who's really responsible for the murder. A lot of the loveable characters from the first book are in this one and you get to see them develop even more into their personalities. There's only two sex scenes in this book, but they are so romantic and well written, and STEAMY!!! I love how D.N. writes her sex scenes, not only do they help tell the story, but they also help develop relationships. This entire series is a must read. Yes, there are errors, but they only bother you if you want them too. The story is excellent. Besides, the author is aware of them, apologized for them. The writing gets better with each book as do the plots. This series is totally worth reading. Great, fast-paced intense plots, great, realistic characters that you can fall in love with right away! You don't want to miss out on this series.
