November 17, 2006: Set in Chicago is a world of supernaturals, vampires, werewolves, panthers. Warren the Cop, Darian the club owner, Elise: Darian's lover, Xavier: Darian's second in command and lover, Sergio: who loves Elise, Natasha and Annette. How refreshing to read a book where humans are aware that they aren't the top of the food chain and mingle, live and love those who could do them harm. How refreshing to meet a heroine, with not only brains but a heart and a bit of decorum, who actually falls in love with a vampire based on her own emotions, not some metaphysical scapegoat and who is free of the requisite nerosis, baggage and lack of emotional growth. Who happens to only get catty when it's given to and hasn't superceded Atlas with the chip on her shoulder. Even more refreshing are vampires and weres who actually behave like the predators that they are and aren't Bishouen styled girly men, who've either been tortured or raped and need the heroine to save them. Thank GOD for an author who can write m/m sex that makes me go 'Yummy.' and not feel all squishy because it's over written. Thank God for an author who despite the errors, for those who don't know, she's self published, the story was good enough that I spent time picking at errors instead of enjoying the story.

July 07, 2006: This is by far one of the best series this genre has to offer. I'd say, please overlook the simple typos, because the story is just plain excellent. Also, the second book is even better edited, so no worries. Both Desires Unleashed and The Guilty Innocent were loaded with suspence, action, great sex scenes and plenty more. I love the dialogue and the characters are addictive, I swear!
