From the Publisher
From local publications to national magazines, Greg Daugherty takes the mystery out of magazine article writing, inspiring beginning writers to give journalism a try. He begins by providing a clear introduction on how magazines work, how writers actually land assignments and how to avoid the common mistakes beginners often make.
Readers will then learn the basics of developing salable ideas, finding the right markets, creating effective query letters and preparing submissions. In addition, Daugherty addresses the special issues and requirements surrounding the writing life, from dealing with rejection, to finding time to write.
