    Publishers Weekly

With its boisterous humor and lovable characters, the newest entry in Hill's time-travel series (following Truly, Madly Viking) will charm the socks off of readers. Magnus Ericsson, a brawny Viking from the 10th century, sets out with nine of his 11 children to find new lands when his longship drifts off course and ends up smack in the middle of a Hollywood set. Mistaken for an "act-whore" auditioning for a Viking film, he snags the producer's attention as well as the interest of gorgeous realtor Angela Abruzzi. Angela agrees to take Magnus and his kids in, with the caveat that her family's Sonoma County vineyard, be the setting for the producer's next flick. Though buff, Magnus is none too swift, and it takes him a while to realize he's time-traveled. Instead, he thinks he's discovered new lands. He and Angela make ideal sparring partners and bedmates: the only problem is that Magnus has taken a vow of celibacy. Despite a daunting number of characters, Hill manages to give each child a unique voice while still keeping the focus on the sexy shenanigans between Magnus and Angela. A subplot involving a nasty neighbor who will do anything to get his hands on the winery is underdeveloped, but, all in all, this is an engaging, hilarious and entirely winsome read. (On sale Mar. 4) Forecast: In an effort to appeal to conventional romance readers as well as those who are new to the genre, Dorchester will release this book with two covers: a classic "hunk" cover and a hip, cartoon cover. The ploy will likely work since both are attractive enough to wow their targeted readerships. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.

October 20, 2008: I enjoyed this book from page one to the end, and laughing all the way...I mean 10th Century Viking discover Wallie World...what a howl! Magnus is the brother from Truly Madly Viking and the Last Viking.
Magnus is sort of the joke of his village. He has 13 kids, two have died and he is just marrying off his eldest daughter. We soon begin to understand, that not all these kids are his, but every woman wanting to get rid of her unwanted baby has passed it off as his. But Magnus is not stupid, he just loves his children, though they do drive him - and the village nuts at times. So he takes the A-viking and ends up as his brothers did in present day. Boy when they go A-Viking they really go A-Viking.

In this one he and his 9 kids land in the land of Holly & Wood...and he instantly finds his destiny in Angela the granddaughter of Rose, owner of the Blue Dragon winery. Rose want grandchildren, wants her granddaughter happily married and would like to see the series of accidents reversed so once more the winery can produce wine.

It is charming and so utterly witty! I simply loved this book, the best of Sandra Hill.

I Also Recommend: The Falcon's Bride, The Bride of Time.

August 01, 2003: This book had me laughing from the first page and kept it up until the end! This is the first book that I've read written by Ms. Hill, and I am on my way to the bookstore to get the rest! Looking forward to more laughter... although I am curious to know what happens to the rest of them say about 10 years later?... Thank you for a very enjoyable weekend!
