    Synopsis

From the moment he sets eyes on Faith, Ian Duncan knows she is the only girl for him. But her unbreakable betrothal to his employer's vicious son forces him to steal his love away on the very eve of her marriage. Faith and Ian are married clandestinely, their only possessions a magnificent horse, a family Bible, a wedding-ring quilt and their unshakable belief in each other. While their homestead waits to be carved out of the Iowa wilderness, Faith presents Ian with the most precious gift of all: a son and a daughter, born of the winter snows into the spring of their lives. The golden years are still ahead, their dream is coming true, but this is just the beginning....

A wonderful novel full of joys and tearsby Anonymous

March 12, 2003: This novel was very refreshing. I enjoyed the fact that not only was the book full of happiness, but it also brought real life into focus. The novel also brought out the bad times that the characters face. Most people do not find true love and live happily ever after. It was nice to read a novel that portrayed real life. I laughed, I cried. I thought it was wonderful and I can't wait to read more from this author.

December 24, 2002: The start of the book was wonderful, I could'nt put it down. Ian and Faith's love was so refreshing. Then out of the blue the main characters are viciously murdered so quickly. It felt like their love didn't even exist. The second part of the book really did not get any better because the children of Ian and Faith suffer bad luck too.(Jenny the daughter gets viciously raped. It also brought in too many new characters near the end to get to know and relate to. Instead of feeling good about this book I really felt cheated.
