      Engaging early twentieth century Alaskaby harstan

      December 25, 2001: In 1911 Gold Landing?s, Alaska, Sam Baranov needs a bride rather quickly though he does not want a wife in order to inherit his late father?s shipping company. Sam?s odious stepmother hid his inheritance including the marriage stipulation by the time he turns twenty-five, which is soon, from him. Instead Sam believed his sire left him nothing. Out of fear of marrying a Hilda clone Sam prefers not to advertise for a stranger.

      New schoolteacher Laura Templeton and her children arrive in town seeking a fresh start as well as staying safe from her detestable spouse. Laura and Sam quickly become friends and he even asks her advice on courting another woman. However, when that fails and Laura learns she is a widow, she offers to marry Sam in name only. He agrees though he fears the attraction he feels towards Laura. Before they can explore their mutual feelings, her ?deceased? husband Roy arrives with a contract to kill Sam.

      RAINBOWS AT MIDNIGHT will provide historical romance fans with a pleasurable reading experience due to its strong characters. Sam deals with a deep hurt that makes relationships seem almost impossible for him while Laura struggles with the demons of her first marriage. The support cast, including a special romance between secondary players, augments the plot by providing insight into early twentieth century Alaska. After reading this delightful novel, the audience will want to try another Amanda Harte early twentieth century Alaskan romance MIDNIGHT SUN.
