    Synopsis

    PASSION HAS A DARKER SIDE.

Kathy McKenna was sure that the little Midwestern town of Oak Hollow would be isolated enough for safety, but the moment the black-clad stranger walked into her bookstore, she knew she was wrong. Raphael Cordova exudes smoldering power, and his sensual touch draws Kathy into a world of limitless pleasure and unimaginable dangers.

Oak Hollow was supposed to be neutral territory for supernatural beings. Instead it has become home to an evil force determined to destroy them-and kill any mortal who gets in the way. As leader of the North American vampires, Raphael has always put duty first, but then, no woman ever enthralled him the way Kathy does. And as the enemy's terrifying plan is revealed, Raphael's desire could be a fatal distraction for all his kind, and for the woman he has sworn to love forever.

    "Intense!"
    -Shannon McKenna

    Biography

Amanda Ashley is one of those rare birds-a California native. She's lived in Southern California her whole life and, except for the earthquakes, she loves it. She shares a home with her husband, as well as a fluffy Pomeranian named Teddi, a mischievous cat named Tigger, and a tortoise who remains nameless. Amanda and her alter ego, Madeline, have written 60 books. Not bad for someone who started writing just for the fun of it. Her books have made the New York Times List, the USA Today List, and the Waldenbooks Bestseller and Mass Market lists.

April 28, 2009: To me, Amanda Ashley's books are always either a hit or a miss. This book was a miss for me. The main characters in this book don't evolve what-so-ever. We all know that in vampire romance novels that the girl and the vampire are always attracted to each other at first glance, but in this book its ridiculous. They fall for each other very fast. He even tells her his life story in like the 4th or 5th chapter. There is no character development. I found it to be quite boring. But, everyone is different when it comes to books. You may or may not like it. In my case i didn't.

I Also Recommend: Bite Me If You Can (Argeneau Vampire Series #6), The Immortal Hunter (Argeneau Vampire Series #11), Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter Series), Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series #1), Single White Vampire (Argeneau Vampire Series #3).

April 23, 2009: I read this book in one afternoon, It was amazing, once I got started I just couldn't put it down. The characters are so easy to fall in love with and I felt like I was there watching on the sidelines, great book. Its a keeper.
