      Synopsis

World-class entertainer and Sazi councilman Antoine Monier has taken his big cats all over the world without any trouble--until his latest trip to Stuttgart, Germany, where one of his tigers is stolen and killed. To Antoine's surprise, the German police have another tiger in custody--a tiger who is actually a lovely Turkish-American woman, Tahira Kuric. Like Antoine, Tahira is a shapeshifter, but of the Hayalet Kabile, the ghost tribe of shapeshifters. And despite their immediate attraction, Tahira wants nothing to do with Antoine--the Sazi are the enemy of the Hayalet.

But Tahira doesn't have a choice, because she and Antoine have discovered that she is a fabled "power well," able to store magical energy from other shapeshifters--and something is hunting her, eager to use her powers for itself.

Only if they can set aside their peoples' ancient rivalry and rely completely on each other--body and soul--can Tahira and Antoine save themselves and their people.

      Biography

Cathy Clamp and C. T. Adams have been writing partners for almost as long as they've both been writing. They are the creators of the Sazi universe, in which they've set several books -- the duet of Hunter's Moon and Moon's Web, as well as Captive Moon, and the forthcoming Howling Moon. They are also the creators of the universe of the Thrall, evil, parasitic vampires, which can be read about in their book Touch of Evil.  Cathy Clamp and C. T. Adams both live in Texas where they are hard at work on their next novel for Tor Romance.

Cathy Clamp was 35 when the fiction writing bug bit her. Although always a competent legal and technical writer, the idea muse ignored her completely. It wasn't until she met future friend and partner Cie Adams that things began to click. Her friend's brain was the idea muse's nesting site! Cie was blessed (or some would say cursed) with one or more full book plots a day! Cathy quickly realized where her bread was buttered. She did learn she possessed a skill in writing romance and action scenes, while her partner concocted storylines and richly diverse characters. Within 18 months of the start of their partnership, they had written five books, and now have two accepted for publication! Cathy lives outside of Brady, TX, with her husband, Don, (also a brilliantly gifted idea man for suspense and espionage) and their four dogs.

Not what I had come to expect from these authors.by Anonymous

September 14, 2006: I have to admit I struggled to finish this book, the heroine is immature, the hero, flawed, and the most interesting character, Giselle, dies. The other two books in this series were an awful lot of fun. This one, for me at least, was not.

June 23, 2006: Sazi cat chieftain Antoine Monier has terrific illusionary skills and an ability to see the future. He is proud of the former, but hides the latter since he learned as a child a seer talent is taboo for a Sazi. In Germany, local police show Antoine the slaughter of several tigers apparently captured by poachers. He knows he cannot do anything for them, but hears that these illegal hunters hold a female tiger prisoner he plans to rescue her.------------------- American Tahira Kuric of the Hayalet Kabile Ghost Tribe came to Germany to rescue her brother, Rabi, a kidnap victim, but instead was captured by poachers. Antoine rescues Tahira, but she does not trust him as her people learn from childhood that the Sazi are cunning and deceitful. However, she has no choice but to plead with him to help her locate Rabi. However, instead of uncovering Rabi?s whereabouts, the duo realizes a cross species war is imminent unless they can perform a miracle to prevent it. Even Were-snake Councilman Ahmad al-Narmer challenges Antoine for the leadership and for Tahira's affection. Neither is aware that she contains a power that if she fails to control means the death of any shifter who is in her vicinity.-------------------- The latest Sazi romantic fantasy (see MOON?S WEB) is a marvelous tale that grips fans with its fascinating star-crossed yet needing one another on several layers story line. The lead couple keeps the plot moving as they run from one fiery episode into another lethal incident Ahmad augments the novel as he competes for Tahira and for the leadership thus he adds to the romance and provides a delightful look at the Sazi politics and community. Filled with surprising twists, C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp insure readers are captivated by this enthralling thriller.-------------- Harriet Klausner
