    Synopsis

Like Janet Evanovich or Jennifer Crusie, Tori Carrington mixes humor with danger and stealth with sex. The intrepid Sofie, a good Greek girl from working-class Astoria, Queens, is finding her feet as a budding private investigator and as a single gal in the big city.
In Foul Play, Sofie’s searching for a couple of hot prospects, one in her personal life and one professionally. The New York Mets might just be on their way to the World Series, but their newly signed pitching phenom has disappeared with the playoffs fast approaching.
As for her personal life, Sofie’s hooking up with a gorgeous Greek who is every bit as hunky as her long-time crush, Australian mystery man Jake Porter—and a lot more available.

    Publishers Weekly

At the start of the lighthearted third Sofie Metropolis mystery (after 2006's Dirty Laundry) from Carrington (the nom de plume for husband-and-wife Lori and Tony Karayianni), the forgetful, peculiar behavior of the Mets' newest pitching sensation, Reni Venezuela, alarms his wife, Gisela. Gisela hires Greek-American PI Sofie, a fellow native of Astoria, Queens, to get the goods on the star baseball player before the play-offs. But this is no simple cheating spouse case: Sofie observes that the normally ambidextrous Reni has pitched the last four games left-handed, and her assistant's research reveals that his last name is actually "Bastardo." In between the sleuthing, Sofie finds time for her effusive extended family and her romantic interest, Dino, the Greek immigrant sweet-shop owner who's tastier than his chocolate tortes. Smart, sassy Sofie knocks the ball out of Shea Stadium in this colorful concoction. (June)

April 24, 2007: Sofie Metroplis is a private detective for her Uncle agency in Astoria, Queens. Her life is looking up as she is doing well in her P.I. work and feels she can skip over the request to look for lost pets. Sofie favorite baseball team, New York Mets are on their way to the World Series, but their newest picture is having issues with his private life, so his wife hires Sofie to find out what is going on. This job will keep her on her toes and with a little time and thinking the pieces will fall in place. On anther topic, Sofie personal life makes a big change and it does not include sexy man from down under either. On her special day, name day, a Greek tradition, she learns just how sexy the man her mother is trying to fix her sister up with really is. I loved this book and highly recommend it. It can stand-alone but personally I would be sure to check out Sofie Metroplis and Dirty Laundry too. The humor in these books will keep you laughing out loud as well. Happy reading!!!!!!!!!! Once you pick up this Tori Carrington book, you will be looking for all of them.
