He has done proof-of-concept BlackBerry projects and has actively supported BlackBerry devices in a Lotus Domino environment since 2000. His extensive knowledge of networking, hardware, and wireless technologies is coupled with writing and technical instruction.
Richard Evers of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, is the editor of the BlackBerry Developer Journal. He is an expert in the areas of wireless communication and small-footprint application development. He has more than 25 years’ experience designing and developing commercial and custom applications. He has been editor and publisher of numerous publications, including Transactor magazine. August 15, 2005: Stop being confused by the blackberry hype. Forget scowering forums and jumping from marketing hype pdf to pdf. If you want to understand how Blackberry's work, and how to put them together as power tools in your environment this is THE BOOK! The writing is simple, clear and understandable. You will quickly see how to leverage the possiblities of the blackberry beyond the email client and connect with technical posibilities. The examples will have you using your new blackberry intranet even if you have never written a piece of software before, but you are comforable with email. The step by step instructions make it a valuable resource for both the professional programmer and the curious Blackberry User. I consumed it in an evening, and have been carrying it around with me making notes and planning my Blackberry Project. After months of frusteration, this book explains why I was having so many problems, and now I know how to fix them. I would highly recommend it! Try to figure out how blackberry's work in a corporate environment, this book brings it into focus in an easy to read way! Thanks Mr Johnston.
