    Synopsis

Book 2 of The Trials of Kit Shannon. A case involving a trolley accident pits Kit against powerful railway men, all of whom have something to hide. The truth may blow the lid off a conspiracy, so will her enemies find a way to keep her silenced forever?

    Library Journal

In 1906 Los Angeles, Kit Shannon is making a name for herself as a female trial lawyer unafraid to take on whoever or whatever stands in the way of justice. When a little boy is struck and killed by a trolley, Kit is determined to get recompense for his mother. Her other big case involves a suspicious attempted murder charge against the down-and-out Mousy Malone. Kit's sense of fairness and mercy leads her to champion child protection laws and pits her alongside prohibition spokeswoman Carry Nation. While Kit battles the political and corporate powers that be in L.A., her fiance, Ted, is doing some investigating of his own in San Francisco. This appealing sequel to A Greater Glory will be popular with fans of historical and gentle legal fiction. Recommended for most libraries. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.

July 18, 2007: This is the first book I've read for the Kit Shannon series and I loved the storyline even though it was a bit sad at the first of the book. Start reading this book early in the day or you may be up all night. I could not put it down once I started.
