August 05, 2009: This and it's companion Inside Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 should be required reading for all developers writing for the SharePoint 2007 platform. These two were among the first to come out when the product was released, so expect some amount of information to be out of date. Despite this, I have seen no better reference or starting material beyond MSDN, Blogs and the SDK itself.
