    Synopsis

While pursuing his quest for the Dark Tower through a world that is a nightmarishly distorted mirror image of our own, Roland, The Last Gunslinger, is drawn through a mysterious door that brings him into contemporary America.

Here he links forces with the defiant young Eddie Dean, and with the beautiful, brilliant, and brave Odetta Holmes, in a savage struggle against underworld evil and otherworldly enemies.

    Biography

Few authors have tapped into our secret fears as adeptly as Stephen King, Master of the Macabre and one of the most widely read novelists writing today. With his trademark blend of fantasy, horror, and psychological suspense, this prolific and immensely popular contemporary writer continues to remind us that evil is still a potent force in the world.

June 13, 2009: So far The Dark Tower is pretty good. The Drawing of the Three is a very good book but not Kings best. it is a big step up from The Gunslinger. heard its gets good on The Wastelands...can't wait!

March 29, 2009: This is by far the best of the entire Dark Tower Series. This one is very suspenseful. We finally meet the entire Ka-tet (save for Oy). The story is amazingly played out. I thought after Roland lost his fingers that this would be the last book of the series, but somehow he made it through five others without two of his fingers. Definitely Stephen King at his finest. This must've been the year for his brain to go awesome because Misery and Eyes of the Dragon were released this year (two of his best books).

I Also Recommend: The Eyes of the Dragon, Misery, Carrie.
