    Synopsis

A rising star in the fantasy romance firmament, Susan Krinard returns to the land of the bestselling Prince of Wolves in this mesmerizing new love story. The legend of the werewolf is reborn in this thrilling tale from the author who "set(s) the standard for fantasy romance" (Affaire de Coeur). Wolf researcher Alexandra tries to help a gorgeous wolf she discovered in the wild, only to discover the unimaginable: that the animal has vanished and a man has taken its place. Following a grisly murder, the weight of suspicion falls heavily on Alexandra's mysterious companion who wields legendary powers--and soon both are scrambling to escape.

    Library Journal

Returning to her childhood haven in the Minnesota woods, wolf researcher Alexandra Warrington, facially and psychically scarred, is seeking solace and peace; what she finds instead is a dream from her past and a choice. A reluctant werewolf hero, a heroine who is stronger than she believes, and a crazed villain combine in this tale of murder and self-discovery. In returning to the uniquely drawn world of the loup-garoux seen in her initial Prince of Wolves (Bantam, 1994), Krinard has created a story that, although not quite as passionate, is tighter, features more well-developed characters, and leaves fewer unanswered questions. Fans will be waiting for this one. Krinard lives in Concord, California.

June 22, 2000: Prince of Shadows is a riveting novel that embraces the lives of Alexandra Warrington and Kieran Holt, two souls who society threatens to tear apart, but were meant to be. I didn't just connect with characters, but was genuinely touched by each of their lives. Sue Krinard has an amazing ability to weave a fine tale, a story that compels the reader and reaches into their heart. The details and aspects of the wolf's life were an interesting facet that added another layer to this already intriguing story. Prince of Shadows is a wonderful read filled with passion, need, and love.

February 22, 2000: I read this book in two days, and with thick books like this, it usually takes me a week. I love books that are romances and have to do with lycanthropes. Susan Krinard is one of the best lycanthrope writeres that I've come across thus far.
