April 30, 2006: Reading this book can be turned into a fun drinking game--how many Georgette Heyer incidents can you recognize? Even the denoument, the startling discovery of a missing talisman ring, is directly from one of her books--The Talisman Ring, to be exact. At least change the object of the search, please. then you can call it 'homage', not plagiarism.

October 12, 2005: Her characters and plot here are not exciting and nothing near as deep as her more recent offerings. Hooper is very good with a pschological thriller, but not good with pure romance.
