In the Scottish wood, a clan of immortal shape-shifting wolves takes in an orphan girl, Gillian, as one of their own. May 22, 2003: What fun! This was my first book I read from Emma Holly, and she just gained one more dire hard fan. This woman can write! Her story is different, her characters are complete, and you have so much fun reading this book, you never want it to end. One of the things I really liked was she developed more than just the primary characters, so when you read the book, you really get involved with all of the major characters and their own stories. What fun! This one is on my keeper shelf!

April 26, 2003: If you like vampire romances, and probably even if you don't, give this marvelous book by Emma Holly a try. She has created a world of vampire or Upyr that is as engrossing as Christine Feehan's Carpathian world. The world seems as fully articulated as if Ms.Holly had been writing in this world for years instead of a first book with a new set of characters!
