January 31, 2002: Cody Butler has a problem. With his mortgage payment due and his cattle herd down with a virus, he may be forced to sell the home and lands that have been in his family for generations. When he agreed to meet with a potential buyer's lawyer, he didn't expect a woman to show up, let alone a beautiful one. Shaye Frazier's meeting with the final landowner standing in her client's way of creating a huge preservation didn't exactly go as she'd planned. She didn't expect to be so attracted to him, nor did she expect to fall for the handsome part Cheyenne cowboy. If you are looking for a well-written and engrossing romance, look no further than A Place Called Home. Judie's love of her Native American heritage shows through in her writing. She portrays real emotions through her characters' plights and circumstances, and weaves heated tension and desire between Cody and Shaye. Cody's struggle with trying to save his land, be a good influence to his young sister and his growing desire for the lawyer woman show Aitken's talent in keeping the story interesting with revolving circumstances. Shaye is a strong heroine to match Cody, which makes the heated tension all the more realistic without going too fast. Shaye's character has struggles of her own between her loyalties and her increasing feelings for Cody. Don't miss this next book by Judie Aitken. It's a bit different than A Love Beyond Time, but this just shows her diversity as a writer.
