    Synopsis

Robert B. Parker's new hero, police chief Jesse Stone, made his debut in the memorable Night Passage. Now he returns in the action-packed Trouble in Paradise, which author and Mystery Scene editor Ed Gorman calls "the best Parker in some time." Trouble in Paradise pits Stone against ex-con Jimmy Macklin, who is planning to pull off the caper of the century.

    Entertainment Weekly

Not for nothing is Parker regarded as the reigning champion of the American tough-guy novel, heavyweight division. Over a 25-year career, the man has rarely composed a bad sentence or an inert paragraph. His 30th novel, which features brand-new protagonist Jesse Stone, proves no exception.

    Biography

Featuring rapid-fire dialogue and spicy characters, Robert B. Parker's books are top-shelf reading for fans of detective crime novels. His Spenser series is several titles strong and an established classic; lately Parker has raised the stakes with two additional series (one featuring private eye Sunny Randle, the other featuring police chief Jesse Stone) that may eventually rival his beloved Boston P.I.

July 08, 2009: This is the second time that I read this book and will keep to read again. It is well written and is never dull. The plot in this book was exceptional and I really enjoyed the author's style of writing. Jesse Stone is a great character much like Spencer. I am some what intrigued to pick up more books from this series. The adventure was exciting and Jesse's love life kept you wondering as well as the bad guys because they didn't know which women would give them leverage over Jesse. I am disappointed in the women that Jesse is in love with so I guess I should look more into the series to see if he smartens up. Good, fast read.

May 31, 2009: I really enjoy the Jesse Stone series. As I am reading, I find the characters so believable that I can't wait to see what will happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, "Night Passage," and Trouble In Paradise" did not disappoint me, but kept me interested in the town of Paradise and its main characters.
