    Synopsis

Susan Squires, author of Danegeld, makes her Candleglow debut with a chilling paranormal historical romance. In the midst of life, there is death. In the hustle and bustle of London society, Sarah Ashton is being watched by a man who has known both life and death -- and gone beyond them to the endless existence of the undead. There is much for this mysterious watcher to admire about the gently-born young lady: her beauty, her intelligence -- and the alluring flow of her blood, pulsing at temple and wrist and throat. At first, Sarah has no idea that the man she knows as Davinoff is more than just a darkly handsome foreign nobleman. But when she realizes her admirer is a supernatural being, more than just her life is in danger. For, while the passionate sacrament Davinoff desires demands both her life and her love for all eternity, there are those among the dark ones who would fight to claim her very soul.

October 18, 2002: This was a really good book. I finally found something worth reading. Well written in plot and plan.

February 28, 2002: Lady Sarah Ashton loves her estate Clershing and would do just about anything to keep it. However, her solicitor informs Sarah that Julien Davinoff has disputed ownership of the property. Sarah is unable to produce the original deed to Clershing and no other proof has surfaced to prove she owns the estate.

Desperate Sarah confronts Julien, who surprises himself by feeling empathy towards her. This is astonishing because Julian is a vampire and has felt nothing but tedium for what seems as if forever. As Julien and Sarah become acquainted and begin to fall in love, her friend Corina makes it clear she wants him and will do whatever it takes including abduction to attain her desire.

Fans of vampire romances will enjoy Susan Squires? supernatural historical tale starring two strong lead characters. Julien is a brooding hunk while Sarah is a caring individual who gains not only the vampire?s admiration but also that of the reader. Though Corina makes a poor egomaniac villainess with no redeeming qualities, the story line of star-crossed lovers moves forward at a rapid pace. Though quite than DANEGELD, SACRAMENT will entertain the audience due to the lead couple starring in a lively tale.
