(Mass Market Paperback - Reissue)
In the bad old days, when Hera and Zeus used to meddle in the affairs of mortals, it was seldom to a human's advantage. But now Zeus has decided to atone for his rough-and-ready use of mortal women by uniting the descendants of his indiscretions with their true loves, the descendants of the gods. Unfortunately for Callie Gabriel, Zeus doesn't seem to have quite got the hang of this matchmaking business. The fiercely independent, vegetarian chef firmly believes that men only lead to heartache and sexy FBI agent Armond Marceau, (chosen by Zeus because he's a descendant of Ares, the god of war) is proof of it. Armond has already walked out on her twice, and the second time he left her pregnant with no way to contact him. When Armond enters Callie's life for the third time, a case gone wrong has left him a broken man. But, while he's completely unable to remember Callie or their wonderful times together, he needs this special woman who holds the key to his stolen memories and to his heart.

May 28, 2001: Trying to make amends for all the trouble he caused mortals millenniums ago, Zeus with the aid of his wife Hera play matchmaker to mortal descendants of the Mount Olympus pantheon. Their first effort shockingly succeeded as they usually cause havoc when interfering, but Joy Taylor and Mark Hennessy seem like a match made in heaven, that is Greek heaven.
Zeus chooses Callie Gabriel, a distant offshoot of Callisto as target number two. However, before the Gods can intercede, Callie becomes involved with FBI Agent Armand Marceux, who is suffering from drug-induced amnesia caused by his enemies. Armand happens to come from Ares? seed, which leads to Hera worrying that with the God War in his gene pool, this mortal cannot understand love. Zeus and Hera know they have a Herculean task ahead of them.
THE WARRIOR, the second ?Sons of Olympus? tale, is an entertaining romance that brings the Ancient Greek mythos of interfering in mortal lives to the information age. The story line is amusing, filled with suspense, and provides an intriguing look at mythology. Readers will find this tale of immortal redemption quite unique and refreshing, and want to seek out the previous novel (THE TRICKSTER). The audience will anxiously await Kathleen Nance?s next story, THE SOUL SEEKER.
