    Synopsis

Julian Savage is golden. Powerful. But tormented. For the brooding hunter walks alone, always alone, far from his Carpathian kind. Like his name, his existence is savage. Until he meets the woman he has sworn to protect . . .When Julian hears Desari sing, emotions bombard his hardened heart. And a dark hunger to possess her floods his loins, blinding him to the danger stalking her, stalking him. And even as Desari enflames him, she dares to defy him-with mysterious, feminine powers. Is Desari more than his perfect mate? Julian has met his match in this woman, but will she drive him to madness . . . or save his soul?

September 08, 2009: I loved the new characters brought to the "dark series" It is nice to have something new and refreshing. I like the fact that they use leopards instead of wolves, made it a little different. It is the same story line strong male finds lifemate and the story repeats it self. Although, in this book the fact that the new characters are Carpathian and have their own ways is refreshing. I am going to read book 6 and hope it continues to be different otherwise I may not get through the whole series because it will be to hard to read the same thing over and over! WHERE IS MIKHAIL? He and Raven are my favorite characters and I miss them!

August 14, 2009: In this book, Julian Savage is a hot and determined Carpathian who finds his lifemate at an unexpected place. However, what I liked about this book was the unexpected company that was found at the concert.

The Dark Troubadours is introduced as a new branch of Carpathians that had never been known to the Carpathian race. They had been distanced from their homeland since the war that had killed off most of the Carpathian people so long ago. This little group had lived alone, surviving off of the oldest in their group when they were only children. Darius, a ruthless yet caring male, took care of the children and brought them up under his protection. Now, making a living of their own, they started this band that travels around the world and Desari is their star singer.

Julian just so happened to be near the concert when he hears her voice and colors spring into his vision. She is his lifemate. I love how the beginning already starts off so dramatically with a gunshot in the middle of the performance.

Julian joins the Dark Troubadours, learning more about this little group that had survived on their own without the knowledge of their Prince. Trust is tested between the group and Julian as he must now deal with his emotions towards Desari while also trying to shield her and her family from the tainted blood that runs through his veins since he was a child. Always trying to distance himself from his people, so to protect them from the evil that traces him, he now has to keep his lifemate safe.

Desari soon learns more about her lineage and her brother who is the "Dark One". The power behind her voice proves of her Daratrazanoff blood and even though she is small, she packs on a strong power of her own.

I love how this new group is added into the tale of the Carpathian race.
