September 17, 2009: Abby Knight is not happy to see a blast from her past, a college grad whom she used to babysit years ago. Now Elizabeth (going by Libby now) is back in town and wants to work for Abby. When Abby turns her down, she decides to open up an art studio just down the street. Her new store is almost an exact duplicate of Abby's flower shop. And that's not all that Libby's copying. Soon she's butting into all aspects of Abby's life including her relationship wth Marcus. Libby even copies Abby's hair style, buys a yellow corvette, and shows up for family dinners. This is more that Abby can take, but just when she's about to snap, Libby's mother turns up dead. Abby needs to solve this case and uncover Libby's behavior in order to recover her own life back. But are some things beyond repair?

Great tension in terms of relationships: romance, friendships, and even family are questioned. Twists keep readers on their toes and up late at night reading til the end. (or maybe that was just me). If you're new to this years, though, start with the beginning, Mum's the Word and work your way through. You won't want to miss this series if you're a cozy mystery reader.

I Also Recommend: Pretty Poison (Peggy Lee Garden Series #1), State of the Onion (White House Chef Mystery Series #1), Pick Your Poison (Yellow Rose Series #1), Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Series #1), Homicide in Hardcover (Bibliophile Series #1).

February 15, 2009: Abby Knight is back for the seventh book of A Flower Shop Mystery Series. This time Abby finds herself involved with a former charge who gradually steals Abby?s life. Right away Abby feels Libby is up to no good, however everyone else thinks Abby is overreacting. Things soon turn from bad to worse when Abby is mistakenly arrested for murder. Abby thinks Libby set her up, however Abby doesn?t have any proof.

Libby comes between Abby?s relationship with Marco which leaves Abby no choice but to end the relationship. As Abby starts her own investigation, she finds herself, unwillingly, working with Marco. Together they try to solve the murder, while trying to avoid their feelings for each other.

Shoots to Kill is a good addition to the series. Abby Knight is an amateur sleuth with common sense. She constantly finds herself in the middle of murder investigations (sometimes she?s a suspect) due to her meddling, but she means well. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a new cozy mystery with a hint of romance.
