      Synopsis

For millennia, the shape-shifting dragon warriors known as the Pyr have commanded the four elements and guarded the earth's treasures. But now the final reckoning between the Pyr, who count humans among the earth's treasures, and the Slayers, who would eradicate both humans and the Pyr who protect them, is about to begin...

When Sara Keegan decides to settle down and run her quirky aunt's New Age bookstore, she's not looking for adventure. She doesn't believe in fate or the magic of the tarot-but when she's saved from a vicious attack by a man who has the ability to turn into a fire-breathing dragon, she questions whether she's losing her mind-or about to lose her heart...

Quinn Tyrrell has long been distrustful of his fellow Pyr and a self-reliant loner. So when he feels the firestorm that signals his destined mate, he's determined to protect and possess Sara, regardless of the cost to himself. Then Sara's true destiny is revealed-and Quinn realizes he must risk everything- even Sara's love-to fulfill their entwined fates...

April 03, 2009: This is about the Pyr, a group of dragons that tries to protect humans and themselves from the Slayers, turn dragons that want to rid the planet of Pyr and humans. The final battle is on it's way and the first of three eclipses which are going to foretell firestorms, mating urges for the Pyr, and help turn the tides of the battle for the best. This time the firestorm has chosen Quinn, the smith. The only problem with that his is has been on his own for years and no one knows where he is at or what side he is on.

Sara is an ex accountant that just lost her parents and close aunt. She decided it was time to settle in one place and chose to take care of the bookstore her aunt left to her. Once she meets Quinn after an attempted mugging/murder, she is drawn to him. This meeting and the prophecy of the joining of the Smith and Seer keep pushing the two together.

But the Slayers have their own advantage. They have kidnapped a key player to the story to be one step ahead of the Pyr. They also have Ambrose, the slayer that first raised Quinn when he was young but was not as fatherly as he appeared.

There is great potential to this story. But you can tell it is the first book in that series because the story line is still rough. Quinn does get old with the tarnished hero thing, it was a bit extreme for me. But I will admit that I read the third book first and wanted to catch up with everything before hand. Definitely stick with it, the series get a lot better.

March 06, 2009: I thought to my self when i picked up "KISS OF FIRE" dragon shape shifter's in a romance novel thats a fun idea. And i read it in a day and a half (i have kids) I just couldn't put it down.I'm soo... glad i have two more books to read, the characters are so much fun and thrilling and don't get me started on the romance "yummy". You must buy all three,Kiss of fire, Kiss of fury and Kiss of fate. Once you start you can't stop.Deborah Cooke is a great author!
