The second book in a thrilling new trilogy...
In Parallel Attraction, Deidre Knight created an unforgettable alternate world of danger, seduction and the mysteries of time. Here she returns to that world as alien warrior Marco McKinley is enlisted to personally protect beautiful human solider Thea Haven. Now, as two sworn enemies are pitted against each other, their lives will be changed forever by the unpredictable perils of love, betrayal, vengeance and passion.

December 05, 2006: Ms. Knight's phenomenal sci-fi series just keeps climbing and climbing. Action, aliens, aliens that no one can see and blazing hot love scenes all combine in such a way as to make this a very unique second effort. The story takes off where we left it last, with Earth on the brink of a war the likes of they've never seen and many Refarian lives hanging in the balance too. In the midst of all that hulla bulla, the king's ex fianc? has to deal with rejection and a new burning she'd not expected. Thea Haven resents her king and Queen. The human Kelsey Wells stole what was rightfully hers...didn't she? Torn between her feelings and her sworn duty as a soldier, Thea must come to grips with her fate. Thing is, Fate isn't through with her yet. An ancient sect of royal guardians is tracking Thea's camp and their king, in hopes of remaining anonymous while protecting at the same time. Marco McKinley is one of these Madjin and he will do all he can to protect every royal member, Thea included. From the moment she enters a common, human infested bar, her life is forever changed. Thea and Marco's instant attraction is the ultimate taboo. Feelings and urges hold more sway though, and amidst the crumbling efforts to see Earth protected against their alien enemies, they will have to filter through the terror of loss to chance having what they want. Edge-of-your seat action and a nicely continued plot from the first book, 'Parallel Attraction', quite literally astounds. Ms. Knight's weaving of her new world and intricate details are some of the cleverest I've read in a sci-fi romance. Since this alien culture has the ability to alter time, it can get tricky, so readers should stick to the pages like glue and not skip around! I strongly urge newcomers to the series to pick up the first book and read it before continuing with this gripping second installment. The third in the series, Parallel Seduction (April 2007) can't come soon enough for me! Thank you, Ms. Knight, for penning such a unique series!

October 10, 2006: Deidre Knight delivers her second tale in the Parallel series and it totally dazzles. Many of the first book tics of Parallel Attraction are gone in this her second novel. The flow is better. Questions are answered. Parallel Attraction wasn?t an ?easy read?. Complicated premises never are, so it?s hard for some ?skim? reading to get into a detailed book. Now that ?Attraction? has set the foundation, Knight is able to fly with the storyline carried over into ?Heat?. We pick up where Attraction left off, Jared Bennett, the exiled king of the Refarians has settled his people in the wilds of Wyoming. He now has a queen, Kelsey, his love from the first book. Only Thea Haven isn?t too thrilled Jared has a wife. She and Jared were promised to each other when they were but children, so she grew to womanhood thinking she?d one day be Jared?s queen. Now another has taken her place. Soon her life is complicated even more by the appearance of Marco McKinley. A stranger, a warrior, Marco is a member of a royal guard and sworn to protect Jared, Kelsey and Thea, while helping Jared regain his kingdom. Thea and Marco are soon shooting sparks off each other, but both feel they don?t have the time for love while they are preparing for war on earth. Worse, Marco has been cautioned that his love for Thea could see him betray Jared. If this isn?t trouble enough, a member of the Rafarians is caught by the US Air Force who believes the Rafarians are plotting to do bad deeds against Earth. Again the novel is complex, compelling with a strong hero and heroine to match him. It?s fast paced, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader turning pages. Many that were left with questions from the first novel will find these addressed in this book. So buckle up and enjoy another installment in Knight?s Parallel world, which leaves you eager for Parallel Seduction in 2007.
