March 19, 2004: Although not a romance fan, I do enjoy Asaro's science fiction, so bought the book. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the various authors' writing skills. I found Deb Stover's humor in Skin Deep fun and refreshing. Asaro's story had more plot than I ever expected from a short story -- the angst was deep and palatable. Mary Jo Putney's story, although predictable, was also very enjoyable. My least favorite story was The Trouble With Heroes -- the characters did not have the needed depth needed to make them interesting, especially the main protagonist. Even so, the ending was satisfying. I would definitely recommend purchase of this book.
