    Synopsis

Rene LeDeux returns home to southern Louisiana after quitting his job in Washington as an environmental lobbyist. Years of battling with the oil industry and land developers have left him completely burnt out, and now all he wants to do is work on his cabin on Bayou Black. But his peace of mind is disrupted by a few things. One, his great-aunt Tante Lulu is determined to get him hitched. Two, a couple of his activist friends have hatched a plot to bring national attention to their cause to save the bayou. They've kidnapped a TV celebrity and brought her to Rene's cabin. And three, the celebrity is none other than Valerie "Ice" Breux, Rene's nemesis while growing up. Talk about red-hot trouble!

May 28, 2009: I don't mean to be a stick in the mud amidst these flowering reviews...but I did not giggle one bit with this book, and I found the story line unchallenging and predictable. The only good thing about this book is the message about the bayou and trying to save it.

I Also Recommend: Down and Dirty, Outlander (Outlander Series #1).

They deposit Valerie Breaux at Rene?s feet. ___ Val Breaux can?t believe she has been kidnapped and left with Rene of all people. Rene and Val had a disastrous make out session back in high school. Rene and Val constantly but heads and then you add Rene?s Tante Lulu to the mix, things really go nuts. ___ Rene convinces Val to spend some time looking into the problems of the Bayou. He figures it?s a win-win situation, he gets to open Val?s eyes to his world and spend time with her. Val opens her heart to Rene and flourishes under his attention. ___ This is a fantastic book.
