    Synopsis

Meet the Bedwyns…six brothers and sisters-- men and women of passion and privilege, daring and sensuality.

    Publishers Weekly

Balogh's Bedwyn family trilogy (Slightly Married; Slightly Wicked) concludes in fine style with this exceptionally entertaining Regency-era romance between bold Freyja Bedwyn and the mischievous Joshua Moore. Freyja's adventure begins en route to Bath when Joshua, the Marquess of Hallmere, takes refuge in Freyja's bedroom at an inn. He gives her an unwanted kiss, and she gives him a bloody nose. Matters turn even more merrily askew when the two meet up again in Bath. To thwart Joshua's scheming aunt, who's trying to manipulate him into marrying his cousin, they declare a truce long enough to enter into a pretend betrothal. Neither foresees the stir created by the charade-or the arrival of Freyja's brother, the Duke of Bewcastle. Meanwhile, the couple must contend with a murder charge drummed up by Joshua's aunt to keep him from spoiling her ambitions. When passion enters the picture, the unlikely pair find themselves in danger of taking a trip down the aisle in earnest. Balogh's protagonists are complex and charismatic-the kind of people you hope to be sitting next to at a party. Secondary characters like Joshua's mentally handicapped cousin and a disgraced family employee also take on a life of their own. With its impeccable plotting and memorable characters, Balogh's book raises the bar for Regency romances. (June 10) Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.

August 17, 2009: I loved this book. This is probably my favorite of the Bedwyn series. Freyja Bedwyn is a strong character that is truly a woman ahead of her time. She is also vulverable and caring. A side of herself she doesn't readily show. The male lead character, Joshua, is handsome and fun-loving. He is also more serious than he appears. The two characters work so well together first as friends then as lovers. This is a great story.

I Also Recommend: Slightly Married (Bedwyn Family Series), Slightly Dangerous (Bedwyn Family Series).

June 25, 2006: I couldn't put this one down. My second in the Bedwyn series and I loved it. I liked the fact that it didn't follow the normal form for regency romance and put the lady always in the right. Freyja was always putting her foot in her mouth. But as strong a personality as she is it never stopped her from standing up for herself or others. Joshua is funloving and the perfect guy for her, for the simple reason he not only loves and accepts Freyja as she is , but he delights in her and is not afraid as, you understand through the book, most are. He challenges her and she him and through their love and understanding they compliment each other. I also thought it fitting that Freyja should find her love the way that Kit (A Summer To Remember) found his.
