"One of the romance writing industry's brightest stars"(Romance Reviews Today) returns with a flat-out delightful, new, and sexy contemporary romance about a woman who's happy being singleand the man determined to change her mind.
Independent single mother Tamara Briggs wanted to find a new, sexy, no-strings-attached manjust not one as young as NASCAR driver Elec Monroe. But he sure does get her heart racing. And after she's tricked into a blind date with him, Tamara gives in to her passion. Things screech to a halt, though, when he asks to meet her children. Whatever happened to wham-bam-thank-youma'am? Suddenly Tamara has to decide how much risk she's willing to take to experience the power of true love.
McCarthy strays from her more recent Vegas Vampires series and heads to the world of racing for a steamy romance. Two years after Tamara Briggs's husband was killed in a wreck at Talladega, she's back to dating, but her latest beau is a dud. She dumps him and remains intent on not ending up with another race-car driver, but that's exactly what she gets when she meets Elec Monroe. Things progress quickly, and soon she's having dynamite sex with this younger man who's nice to her kids-who could ask for more? There's a catch of course: Elec is the son of Tamara's dead husband's father's sworn enemy. The narrative is fast-paced and red hot; fans of more graphic romances will enjoy this and welcome the next-a sequel is in the works. (Nov.)

December 19, 2009: The characters are so believable, and so relateable, and just so much fun to read. Elec is a dream come true for Tamara, and her
kids needed him just as much as she had. I loved the tenderness in which the emotoinal scenes were handled, and the quick wit of Suzzanne, had me rolling and wiping away tears just so I could keep reading. I read this book and the follow-up Hard And Fast, in less than twenty four hours, and the only thing I absolutely hated was that it ended. I could spend days in the lives of these characters, and loved each and every one, well except Nikki, but I did like how Suz handled the bimbo. These two books are at the top of my favorite list now, and I am buying the rest of her books as well. Exelent read, that will not leave you unsatisfied. Praise for Erin McCarthy.I Also Recommend: Letters to a Secret Lover, One Reckless Summer, Simon Says, Sucker Bet (Vegas Vampires Series #4), High Stakes (Vegas Vampires Series #1).
