Continuing the story of Henry VIII's wivesfrom the author of The Spanish Bride and A Lady Raised High.
With a face better suited to a nun's habit than a wedding dress, Jane Seymour has no suitors and few hopes. Then, her prospects brighten when she is granted a position at court as maid of honor to Queen Catherine. There, Jane watches as King Henry VIII ignores his aging wife, showering favor on the beautiful Anne Boleyn, the woman he would make his new queen.
But soon he tires of Anne and his wandering eye falls on Jane. Though she has feelings of affection for Henry, she cannot let herself be swept away by his attentions if she is to win not only his heart, but also the greatest prize of allthe Crown.
Plain Jane is truly one of those work of art books that will capture the imagination and let it take flight!

September 27, 2007: I absolutely loved this book! It was void of crassness and lewd details,(very rare for novels about Henry VIII's reign),the language was clean, and the plot very engaging.I was thrilled to see a book about Jane Seymour(third wive of Henry VIII). Usually it's about Anne Bolyn or Catherine Howard, the more riviting flirty wives. So, if you want to broaden your historical horizans and be vastly enchanted.......

April 24, 2007: this book finally tells the story of Jane, bittersweet it was but it turns her into a person to remember in contradiction to the woman who gave henry a son.
