Vampire fiction with a twist-and a touch of Texas heat. First in an exciting new trilogy.
Former Spanish knight Don Raphael Perez has been a vampire for seven centuries, and is now the leader of the largest vampire territory in North America, spanning Texas and Oklahoma. But a rival is challenging his rule. Then he meets veterinarian Grania O'Malley, who's never felt the touch of a man. Raphael has sworn never to initiate a woman into the eternal pleasures of the flesh, but now it may be the only way to save her from his bloodthirsty adversary...
Diane Whiteside designs and builds computer systems for the federal government when she isn't writing.

February 23, 2009: While the idea of the story is a good one, I feel it was poorly executed. The idea of a Spanish knight-turned-vampire is intriguing, but reader beware: if you are not familiar with many Spanish terms, you get lost in translation.
I found this to be the case for myself, and I wish that there had been a disclaimer in the description of the book that stated I would need to become familiar with Spanish words in order to enjoy it. Had that been the case, I simply would not have purchased it. I do regret my purchase.
