October 27, 2008: In Scotland in the year 1307, the Clan Munro has been a whole-hearted supporter of King Robert the Bruce, fighting alongside him to fulfill his wish of uniting all of Scotland. But when Tayg's older brother, the clan heir, is killed, Tayg is suddenly faced with a much tougher assignment than that of warrior-he must find a suitable wife, and become chief of his clan.

Not before he faces one more adventure, however. Before Tayg sets his sights on finding a fitting bride, he takes off on one last assignment for the king. All would have been fine and well, in fact, if along the way he didn't mean a shrew in the fine form of Catriona MacLeod.

A woman tired of her domineering father, five over-bearing brothers, and who's definitely not planning to stick around for her arranged marriage to Duff "Dogface" MacDonell, she flees. She'd been aiming for her aunt's village, but her sense of direction is less than keen and in time she's lost in a harrowing highland storm of winter.

Ms. Wittig writes a wonderful historic romance filled with the sights and sounds of Scotland, and lovable-and even more importantly, believable-characters in Tayg and Cat. Both on a mission to get more out of life than has been planned for them, they find a love and passion together that neither had dared to dream of. Kudos to Ms. Wittig for another fine Scotland romp!
