    Synopsis

Morgan "Black Heart" Farrell can't believe that the honey-haired siren is telling him the truth: that he's sailed right into the twentieth century. He desperately needs to get back to his ship and his own time. But for now, the widowed Kate seems to need a man -- a real man -- who can protect and comfort her. Black Heart knows he may have brought danger with him from the past, but he can't seem to resist Kate's cupid-bow mouth with its fiery kisses.

At first, Kate Cameron can't believe her eyes as they drink in the spectacular mystery man standiong on an otherwise deserted beach. Never mind that he's wearing a cutlass and looks like he washed onshore from an off-Broadway production of The Pirates of Penzance, Black Heart is the sexiest man Kate has ever seen. And she soon begins to believe that Morgan's heart may not be so black...but that he may be the hero she's been looking for.

    Rendezvous

One of the best spinners of tales the genre has to offer.

    Biography

Always a romatic, Patti Berg spent her childhood dreaming about being whisked away by a knight in shining armor, a devil-may-care swashbuckler, a sheik on a shiny black stallion, or a broad-shouldered cowboy with a Stetson tilted low on his brow. Now she spends her days making up stories in which her heroes do whatever she wants them to. It's almost as good as a dream coming true, she confesses.

Currently working on her next book for Avon Books, Patti hopes she'll have a long career sharing her dreams and fantasies with others.

August 08, 2005: After reading so many serious historical romances, I needed a break. I was looking for something with fun, intrigue, and steamy romance....And I got it! This is a really fun book about the famed pirate, Black Heart, who is not what he seems. In the year 1702 he is taking his enemy, Thomas Low, to the queen to be tried for the murder for Black Heart's family. During the journey, a hurricane strikes, and Low is freed. When Black Heart wakes up he is crawling up to the island he buried his sister on years ago and find that things are not what they were when he left. Kate and Casey Cunningham are stranded on an island in the Bermuda Triangle in the year 1998. Kate is a widow whose husband was killed a few years ago, and now she is trying to find buried treasure on the island. Casey, who is 6, is praying for a pirate from God. To her mother's dismay, Casey's prayers are answered. Over the next few weeks, Kate and Casey nurse Black Heart back to health, while he is trying to find a way to get back to 1702 and bring Low to justice. Kate and Black Heart learn a lot about each other, and about love.... ENJOY!!!

August 05, 2005: I thought this was a good book, it was a little predictable but... it was funny and entertaining for a light enjoyable fantasy read.
