January 02, 2005: This was the first romance I ever read and it hooked me to romance in a way no other book could have. Though I have read many other great books, this one is still my all-time favorite. To this day I have never read another book that captures me like this one. To have the heroine absolutely innocent yet also a murderer was quite fascinating. It was nice to know that she had the strength of character to defend her virtue, even up to the point of murder. In my opinion, she was the perfect combination of innocence and strength of character. In addition, James Killoran was the perfect dark lord. He was brooding and a little set off from others, yet he gave off a definite sexual vibe which made me yearn for him myself. The writing of this book was wonderful, being humorous and touching, as well as quite well written (unlike some which seem like middle schoolers could've written the story). This is a definite read for any type of romance reader.
