Bad Girl Grading System
A--Totally bad!!!
B--Could be worse...
C--Wannabe territory
D--Way too nice!
F--Give it up, Mattie Brown!
Mattie Brown has always prided herself at excelling at everything. And that's why it's killing her that she scored only 18% on a sex test! But she isn't going to take it lying down. (Well, maybe she will, but that's beside the point.) Her plan--to proposition Cullen Slater, the neighborhood stud, for some hands-on instruction in how to make her sex life sizzle. Too bad it's her cute, nice-guy neighbor Mike Peterson who's lighting her fire....
Julie Kenner has always loved making up stories--particularly those with a happy ending. But she took a convoluted path to romance writing.
After working as a lawyer for eight years, she decided to try to focus some of her creative energy. Since Julie is a happily-ever-after aficionado who unabashedly cries during heartwarming commercials (especially any by Kodak or Hallmark), romance writing was a perfect fit.
When she and her husband moved from Los Angeles back to her hometown of Austin, Texas, Julie started to seriously write.
Though her first manuscript will never see the light of day (it's now in a box in the garage), her second sold to Harlequin Temptation after placing first in the Tampa Area Romance Authors' Contest.
That novel, Nobody Does It Better, was published in February of 2000.
Julie still practices law full-time, losing herself in her stories on evenings and weekends. When she's not working or writing, she loves spending time with her four cats (Madam, Tequila, Tiger, and Squeaky) and with the neighborhood cats who tend to hang around her house, all of which have been given names by Julie and her husband, Don (such as Black Kitty, Talkie-cat, Blue Eyes, and Fluffy).
She and her husband also love to travel--whether to small towns in the Texas hill country, or to more distant venues such as Ireland, London, or Paris.
Julie's a movie buff, enjoying everything from the lightest romantic comedy to the most action-packed adventure! You can see a list of her favorite romances (and her mother's favorites!) on her web site, www.juliekenner.com.
Julie loves to hear from readers, and you can write her at P.O. Box151417, Austin, TX 78715-1417 (if you'd like free goodies, send a SASE).

July 11, 2006: In Los Angeles Mattie Brown took the slut (make that sex) test as a lark. However, when she scores 18 percent on the Internet based exam, she become outraged, humiliated and upset as that tally is what a nun would obtain not a twenty-seven years old siren, make that woman. Refusing to be left behind she decides she will re-take the test as soon as she gains some experiences. Of course Mattie has no one to practice with, which is part of the reason she scored in the lower get a sex life percentile.------------------ She needs a practice dummy so she can score an A on the slut-meter and thinks she has the perfect hunk, a dumb all body male model. If he fails her there is the sex shop batteries not included. However, Mike Peterson is much more than the body instructor as the computer game expert plans to prove to the beautiful woman who has propositioned him.------------------- THE PERFECT SCORE is a fun and amusing contemporary romance that lampoons the American preoccupation with sex and test scores. Mattie is fabulous as her quest takes her into some interesting stores, a humorous discussion with her mom (the asides are outrageously funny), and ultimately with Mike who plans to make her the teacher?s pet. Julie Kenner provides a delightful lighthearted romp that never takes itself seriously except when Mattie takes tests.--------------- Harriet Klausner
