      Synopsis

Not every woman hears the call

Unless she's Maggi Sanger, descendant of a line of woman charged with recovering the lost chalices of female power. As in goddess power. That's right, Maggi's a modern-day Grail Keeper. But you can just call her a modern-day goddess. . . .

Most of the time, her life is pretty sane. Not much romance, but it's not easy separating the good men from the bad. Especially when the man she once loved is the first suspect on the scene the night her research regarding the grail's whereabouts is stolen. . .

Now Maggi's racing to recover the grail before it's destruction. Not an easy task, with her ex-lover hot on her tail. Good thing she has goddess strength on her side. Though things might go easier if she had a heart of stone. . . .

September 04, 2004: Comparative Mythology Professor Maggi Sanger comes home to find someone broke into her home searching for something. Since she collects statues of ancient goddesses and is a Grailkeeper like her ancestors, she knows what the felon sought. While the police interview Maggi, her former boyfriend Alexander ?Lex? Rothschild Stuart III arrives filled with concern for her.............................. The unknown assailant assaults Maggi?s Aunt Bridge, landing her in the hospital. Maggi realizes that for some unknown reason this goon wants to destroy the Grails. As the Grailkeeper, she must risk her life to keep her charges safe. However, she knows she needs help and Lex is willing, but can she trust him when he already hurt her and he could easily be the one behind the attacks................................. This enjoyable romantic suspense makes believers out of readers that the mythos of a pantheon of Goddesses exists. The story line is action-packed and filled with suspense on several levels besides the obvious cat and mouse game with the grail destroyer. Readers will wonder whether Maggi will ask Lex to help and, if yes, will he ultimately betray her. Should she choose an alternate hunk Rhys, who seems to desire her as much as Lex has without the dark secrets? In any case fans will appreciate this superb mythological romance.......................... Harriet Klausner

July 13, 2004: A kick-butt heroine. This is the signature character for Harlequin?s new Bombshell line. Picture Lara Croft or Buffy. But Yvonne Jock?s first Bombshell, AKA- GODDESS has a heroine every woman can relate to. Oh, she still kicks some serious butt, but Magdalene Sanger?Maggi to her family and friends?is reluctant at first to take on her warrior role. Dr. Sanger?Maggi--is a professor of Comparative Mythology and a student of Tai Chi living a normal life. But when her apartment is broken into and her aunt attacked, Maggi is thrust into a world of danger and intrigue. Maggi is descended from a line of ancient goddesses. Thousands of years ago, as each queen found herself in danger, she hid her holy chalice. Clues to the Goddess grails? hiding places have been passed down from mother to daughter in the form of deceptively innocuous nursery rhymes. Now, with the aid of a handsome Welshman, Rhys, Maggi must find and protect her ancestor?s Goddess grails. On top of everything else, her lover, Lex, seems to be the head of a secret society of dangerous men bent on destroying the grails. Lex is a mysterious, dangerous, and sexy man. But is he Maggi?s lover or her enemy? Maggi and Lex?s ambiguous relationship causes knee-weakening sexual tension and edge of your seat suspense. The plot is shadowed with uncertainty as Maggi finds herself attracted to Rhys, the love scenes sizzle, and the fight scene at the end is tense, exciting, and horrifyingly real. Maggi is a kick-butt heroine you will love to cheer for.
