November 30, 2000: ?A Regular Joe? by Carol Finch. Tired of hearing lies from his management team, Hobby Hut Enterprises CEO Daniel Joseph Grayson decides he needed fresh air. He flees Oklahoma City and his executives to fend for themselves to become a regular ?Joe Schmoe?. He obtains a job at the Fox Hollow Hobby Hut just under an hour from his office and to see why this site is so successful. However, he never expected to fall in love with the store manager, Mattie Roland, who he knows reciprocates his feelings until she learns his true identity.
?Mr. Right Under Her Nose? by Jennifer Drew. The snowstorm closed down the Detroit Airport leaving Kim Grant frustrated as she must get to Phoenix to help her pregnant sister cope with a four year old child while her brother-in-law is in Africa. When her overstuffed bag topples over and opens, her lingerie falls out of it. Rick Taylor, who wants to stop his foolish brother from marrying, helps Kim collect her stuff. With one car rental left and both needing it, Kim and Rick agree to share it to Chicago. That trek soon turns into a longer trip, but on the way Rick and Kim fall in love, but he cannot commit to anything meaningful in the long run.
As usual, Duets provides the audience with two fun novels. Both stories are entertaining as Carol Finch and Jennifer Drew provide amusing romantic romps that has become a trademark of the Duets line.
