September 04, 2001: Six months ago, Erick Conrad died fighting a fire. Not even thirty, Erick left behind a wife and two young twins. His brother Dusty took full responsibility for Erick?s death and fled his home in Old Orchard, Ohio, his beloved wife Jolly, and his job as a firefighter.

Dusty returns home to obtain a divorce from Jolly so she can get on with her life. She does not understand why he left nor why he wants the divorce until Erick?s widow Darby explains to her that Dusty suffers from survivor guilt. Although understanding her beloved better, Jolly has no idea how to help Dusty heal let alone getting him to stay. Dusty cannot deal with Jolly fighting fires with the passion of his deceased sibling so would prefer to leave rather than lose another loved one. Though the fire still blazes between them, it seems nothing will help this couple find their way back together.

THE WOMAN FOR DUSTY CONRAD is a tense contemporary romance centering on an individual badly coping with the loss of a loved one especially when one is drowning in guilt. The story line is character driven, as readers will empathize with Dusty and his feelings, but root for Jolly to continue her work and regain her man. The writing team of Tori Carrington provides a tense drama that shows why they are quickly becoming popular among romance fans.
