    Synopsis

In this New York Times bestseller, a commentator who is a former Republication and White House strategist traces four generations of the Bush family in the context of the "dynastization" of America. Phillips explores the elite Bush-Walker family's longstanding ties to Wall Street and the military-industrial complex. Appended material probes further into their early armaments deals and the current President's patterns of deception. The book is dedicated to President Eisenhower. The New York Times

Mr. Phillips is eloquent on the continuing fallout of American decisions, beginning in the 70's, to pour huge amounts of armaments into the tinderbox of the Persian Gulf and Middle East, into countries "menaced by religious and resource conflicts." He also raises disturbing conflict-of-interest questions about the Bush family's intertwining political and business relationships around the world, relationships embodied by Bush Senior's post-presidential affiliation with the Carlyle Group, a merchant bank with military-sector investments. — Michiko Kakutani

January 14, 2008: If all Americans had read this book prior to the election it would have changed history. This is one of the most complete books I have read on the EVIL Bu$h family. Their quest for power has no bounds. This book should keep any Bu$h family member from ever 'winning' another election. I will hand my copy down to my grandchildren so they will understand the failure of our democracy.

July 30, 2006: In 100 years, the book that will be refrenced for the dark side (and it is very dark)of the Bush family, this is it. Phillips, a shrewd political analyst and widely respected, points to how the Bush-Walker Dynasty was made. In corollaries to the British Stuarts, the Bushes have made the American Presidency as a familial pasttime. With a getting even type of conservatism, Wall Street banking and 'Texanomics' in their portfolio, the Bushes are the most dangerous threat to American Democracy we have ever seen. Also a very good summary of the financial and energy-rooted biases of the Bush Republicans. From a conservative Democrat to a disenchanted but genuine Republican, I salute you, Mr. Phillips!
