    Story Behind the Book

Craig Groeschel started LifeChurch.tv, now attended by more than twelve thousand people each weekend on five different campuses, in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, area in 1996. From that point on, he has been empowered by the knowledge that he is following God’s chazown (vision) for his life. Craig’s cutting-edge teaching style—including honest, uncomfortable teaching of God’s truth and ubiquitous use of in-your-face video and other imagery—has challenged and changed thousands of lives. His messages are simulcast live to each of the church’s campuses, and his ministry continues to explode. This book stems from a two-message series that he gave; its premise is the bedrock for all teaching and ministry at LifeChurch.tv.

May 14, 2008: Chazown is a wonderful book with many thoughtful examples and tools to guide you in finding your purpose in life. When I first picked this book for a project, I didn't know what to expect. At first I was a bit nervous if I had made the wrong choice but it turned out I found something very though provoking. The stories Craig tells me helped illustrate some points he was trying to show and even had some pages where I could check off what I had in my life and what I was missing. I didn't have any trouble understanding what I was missing as Craig does bring attention to the reader keypoints with the use of different colors and large text. There are many metaphors, allegories, similes, and even things that refer back to previous pages if you forgot what he was talking about. There is a lot of usage of bible passages and it is related to what he's talking about perfectly. Chazown also brings some friendly humor to the table with a few funny headlines and titles along with some situations which just make you laugh. But the core thing that made me like the book were the stories and how much it made me think about a feww things weren't working and how I had to make them right. Craig often tells you that things may happen, but they don't happen on purpose. That much is true, too many people just sit around and wait for things to come. If you are looking for a little help in exploring yourself and improving your life then I totally recommend this book!
