    Synopsis

About three things I was absolutely positive:
    First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife -- between desire and danger.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

    Publishers Weekly

In our Best Books citation, PW called this tale of a teen attracted to a vampire, a "riveting first novel, equal parts suspense and romance." Ages 12-up. (Sept.) Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

November 29, 2009: The Twilight Saga is a trend sweeping the nation; and for good reason! A book about vampires. How can this be even remotely interesting? That is exactly what I thought. After about page 20 you are attached to the suspense and curiosity of the human-vampire interaction. The love in this story will never cease to amaze you, as you will be enveloped by the passion that the two main characters, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen display. At times, the story may seem slow and uneventful, but you must wait until the end of the book in order to experience the full thrill and excitement that makes this story, unforgettable. You will literally fall in love with the Cullen's, a family of vampires, thanks to their genuine hospitality and open heartedness. This story shows that diversity can be overcome and love conquers all. So before you judge the thought of this book being a "waste of time" silly story about bloodsuckers, grab Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and unlock the magic yourself!
