    Synopsis

Hoppe (economics, U. of Nevada, Las Vegas) has presented much of this material as speeches to the Ludwig von Mises Institute and the Center for Libertarian Studies (he is an editor for the Journal of Libertarian Studies). Hoppe calls for an alignment of conservatism and libertarianism and suggests, among other things, that the production of defense should be undertaken by insurance companies on the free market. The central theme is that a natural order is superior and that civilization would be better served by a social theory of legitimation.
