His black pen drawings are an integral part of the poems, which range from funny and gross to introspective or tender. Silverstein is a master at tickling the funny bone, and his book is definitely not just for kids!

November 11, 2009: I purchased this book to read to my children mainly due to the fond memories that I had from reading it as a kid. It is as good as I remember! Even better when seen through my children's eyes. It is a classic that all children at heart should have in their libraries!
