This book has all the "behind the scene" stories that the public doesn't see. The reader gets a look at the daily life of an HPD patrolman. It will make you appreciate that there are public servants putting their life on the line to protect us every day.

The book has humor and romance and shares with the reader the team dynamics of having a partner they have to depend on.

I really enjoyed this book. It had the feel of being written by someone who knew what they were talking about. It is exciting, funny and interesting. The characters are so well developed that you actually care about what happens to them. Once I started reading it I didn't want to stop. I recommend this book highly.

I have known the author for about 28 years and worked with him for a good number of years. His story line is very believable and his assessment of the HPD is right on. He apparently chose to clean the language up a bit. As far as I know this is his first book and he really impressed me. It's a good read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It has exciting police chases, interesting police characters, quirky citizens, and the romance is handled very well. Some of the situations that the patrol officers get into had me laughing out loud. There is some salty language which is exactly how you would expect police officers and "perps" to talk. Synopsis

A Lot's Changed Since Gail Krajick Was Last on Patrol. Her Inner Cop Hasn't.

Gail Krajick never expected to be back on patrol. Not after she bolted from patrol after her probationary period years before. And not after making it onto the Houston PD's elite Special Thefts Division. But a workplace scandal she had no involvement in draws the suspicion of Internal Affairs, and patrol's where Officer Krajick has been exiled. Kind of like her own personal Siberia.

To add to the insult, she's been temporarily paired with another officer for "re-training." But as she and her new partner, Officer Chris Tempest, come across some of Houston's top lowlifes, something quickly becomes apparent: Krajick's like a magnet for the hottest crime calls the officers have seen in years.

Now, Krajick's faced with a choice: try to get her prestigious desk job back or stay in the field with the rogue's gallery of cops she's become endeared to over the past few months. Not to mention the training officer who just might be more than temporary...

Real Cops Wear Uniforms and Ride in Patrol Cars combines street smarts, savvy and romance for a rollicking look at modern police work.
