Ever since I finished reading the last HP book, I have been desperately searching for a new fantasy series. And guess what? I FOUND IT! I didn't care much for Barandela's first book, but it was interesting, so I gave this one a shot. And boy was there a difference. The characters are far more realistic and the plot is enticing. i dont know where dawn_of_dorkness is coming from, but i think he/she has been reading a few too many children's books to appreciate anything other than peter cottontail. i will admit that there are similarities between this book and a few others ive read, but it certainly isn't "an unimaginative stroll though a compilation of other authors works" as dawn_of_dorkness would lead you to believe....
