More Reviews and RecommendationsMary Ann Johnston-lecturer, healer, occupational therapist, and author of Sustained by Faith - Personal Awakening in God, writes of her spiritual life and conversations with Jesus, who came to her as a radiant, ethereal being when she was five years old.
Jesus remained her childhood companion and sustained her during seventeen years of intermittent abuse in her first marriage. Then, several years later, while working as a traveling occupational therapist in medical facilities across the country, Mary Ann learned-with Jesus' intervention-that she was able to heal people through the power of Spirit. Soon she left many conventional Christian attitudes and beliefs behind, to rely more on her inner knowing, faith in God, and loving communion with Jesus.
In 1998, Mary Ann had a profound, spiritual awakening, brought on by a sudden kundalini energy surge, which increased her creativity and awareness of God's graces. She began to write poetry describing the blissful feelings, visions and realizations she was having. In 2002, Jesus encouraged her to write books, sharing her experiences and his messages of truth and love, with all people, everywhere.
Mary Ann has a degree in occupational therapy from Western Michigan University. She gives homilies and workshops on spiritual subjects addressed in her books, for Unity and other churches across the country, community groups, and at Song of the Morning yoga retreat in Michigan, where she lives with her husband, George. She is also a talented musician. Her CD, Hymns of Love, contains beautiful renditions of hymns she has played and sung for church services, weddings and special occasions.
