      Synopsis

Once the pastime of the Japanese "leisured classes," origami is now practiced by millions of people all over the world. This box set is both an ideal introduction for those who want to learn more of the ancient art of paper folding, as well as for those who want to extend their repertoire.

      The accompanying book contains:

      • A brief introduction to the history of origami
      • A guide to the fold symbols and diagrams
      • Clear, step-by-step instructions to 25 projects—from the traditional to the modern, and from the simple to the complex

The 80 sheets of colored paper feature a wide variety of designs and patterns that perfectly complement the models.

January 29, 2005: This book has a good symbol guide, easy-to-follow fold instructions, and a nice selection of attractive, basic designs. Comes with a particularly pleasant variety of paper, all in a box- and the box has a divider you can safely store your creations beneath the book and paper. I have enjoyed taking it along for entertainment during air travel.
