(Hardcover)
An essential reference for knitters from novice to expert, this fully illustrated sourcebook is the first of three "stitch dictionaries," to be written by the professionals at Vogue® Knitting. Some 300 stitches are detailed, and hundreds of charts, photographs, and illustrations make it easy to understand how to construct each stitch, as well as the ways they can be used in projects. The experts at Vogue® Knitting demonstrate rib stitches such as brioche, herringbone, chevron, and quilted patterns; traveling patterns like parquet, ripple, and diamond stitches; lace, including daisy and wave patterns; and such unusual stitches as eye of lynx, bobble block, peppercorn, and bamboo. The most complete book of its kind, this is the definitive stitch reference!

June 20, 2009: I was not expecting so many stitches in just one volume! It is beautifully designed, so easy to use, the instructions are clear and very detailed, the photographs captures every detail and I can not wait to try every one of them... I just do not know with wich one should I start! Looking forward to buy the others.
I Also Recommend: Baby Blankets (Vogue Knitting on the Go! Series), Vogue Knitting on the Go! Shawls, Vogue Knitting on the Go! Crocheted Baby Blankets, Vogue Knitting on the Go! Shawls Two.

June 27, 2006: The book is divided into several sections: Knit and Purl, Lace, Traveling, Unusual. In each section the samples are knitted in the same green color/gauge so you can easily see the differences in stitches. The only reason this book does not get a 5 star rating is because some of the directions are incorrect (example: p33, seed triangles are worked over 9 stitches, but the directions call for 10 stitches - that last K1 is incorrect and should be deleted). Although there are mistakes, so far they have been easy to correct. This book is a good addition to any knitters library, but if you only need one stitch book I would recommend the book by Kooler - not as many stitches are shown but the directions are clearer and (so far)there are no mistakes in the directions.
